Big Dill Pickleball Co. is about FUNction. We couldn't find any paddles geared toward the social, inclusive, and accessible elements of the sport. We knew we could do better for our fellow picklers: Offering unique, fun paddles and gear that help people connect and experience the power of the pickleball community.
Hello, everyone! I'm Katy Luxem, and I'm the founder and CEO of Big Dill Pickleball Co.
I founded the company in October 2020 from my home in Salt Lake City, UT. But I have been playing pickleball since I was a child. As I grew up in Seattle (where pickleball was invented on Bainbridge Island), I played in PE and school and thought pickleball was more mainstream than it was.
Flash forward to Utah in 2020: I had broken both ankles playing roller derby in one year. I had picked up pickleball and found it an amazing, accessible way to stay competitive, social, and active during the pandemic. When I went to purchase my own gear, I found it to be boring and expensive. To be honest, it looked like the side of an RV. It was hard to find a paddle that looked unique and cool while still offering serious engineering and construction that could grow with the player.
Our paddles offer fresh, unique designs in fun colors to add excitement to your game. Each paddle is tested for quality and durability, and constructed to high standards with premium components. While these paddles may make you smile, they are also made for ALL pickleball players, from beginners and beyond!
I believe sports should be fun, inclusive and accessible. Playing with pickle-themed gear is also a huge plus. Thanks for being here and supporting our female-founded small business. I'll see you on the court!
