For centuries people have gathered together to buy and sell goods. A famous example is The Great Exhibition, which began on May 1, 1851 in Hyde Park London. Opened by Queen Victoria and with over six million visitors over its opening period of five months, The Great Exhibition is considered to be the first documented international trade show. It was a new and innovative concept that would change how brands and buyers meet, connect and build long term, fruitful partnerships. From then until fairly recently, in-person trade shows have been the best way for brands and buyers to connect.
