About the Brand

MELAN MISSION:

Our goal here at Melan is to push the boundaries of skincare by creating a product line that is not only more accessible but also prioritizes the use of healthier ingredients for consumers.

Our passion is fueled by our founder, Brandi Corbello “BC”, who transformed adversity into success in the tech industry but faced a life-changing melanoma diagnosis which caused her to appreciate what she puts in and on her body and really became OBSESSED with sunscreen.

One day she was reaching for her beloved daily SPF, couldn't find one on the shelf that she felt comfortable putting on and realized there was a problem. At this point, she had also had a grown appreciation for organizations such as Melanoma Research Foundation that gave her the opportunity for a better life coming out of treatment and felt we weren't advocating enough for Melanoma prevention or treatment options.

Once BC realized there weren't enough clean products on shelves, not enough transparency into these beloved products, and not enough awareness or advocacy for the consumers, she went hard to work to create a company that would fully embody these values. Welcome to Melan, where everyone is one in a melan!

Melan is short for melanoma and symbolizes melons that have a rind made to protect what is so sweet about them and are known to be hydrating and nourishing. All of this ties to our whole mission from a product and community perspective.

Our mission is to bring more awareness to melanoma and give back to organizations that share this mission. We will unlock this though products that protect you but also ones that make you feel good as a consumer with thoughtful formulations in every single product.

Our founder is a big believer in giving back to melanoma research as not only has her life has been extended but the quality of life she has post treatment is unmatched. She attributes a lot of her fortune in this journey to organizations that fight for advancements in the melanoma community which we give back 5% of proceeds on every sale and up the ante to 10% in May in for Skin Cancer & Melanoma Awareness Month and in August to celebrate BC’s cancerversary. We have decided to partner with Melanoma Research Foundation (MRF), which is the largest independent organization devoted to melanoma.

MRF is committed to the support of medical research in finding effective treatments and eventually a cure for melanoma as well as educating patients and physicians about the prevention, diagnosis and the treatment of melanoma. MRF is an active advocate for the melanoma community that helps raise awareness for the disease and the need for a cure.
